Organic Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil is obtained from the shelled fruit of the Prunus dulcet tree, commonly known as the almond tree. It is a rich golden colour with a characteristic aroma. Known as the “King of Nuts”, historical sources suggest domesticated almonds appeared as early or earlier than 4000BC. Said to be native to Iran and surrounding countries, almonds grow in the Mediterranean and other countries in the Earth’s temperate zone. Nature’s Shield sweet almond oil is certified organic, sustainable and is cold-press extracted, for preservation of its naturally derived  qualities.
It is commonly used in many skin and hair products to enhance the appearance and texture  of both. Almond oil may be used for face, skin, nail and hair cosmetic treatments .

Sweet almond oil contains:

  1. Vitamin E, K, which are anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. It can assist in cases of sun damage, skin irritation, sagging and lined skin.
  2. Fatty acids, mostly monounsaturated fats, which are the healthiest oils for the skin. 
  3. Zinc which enhances skin repair and immunity.
  4. Almond oil is a natural makeup remover and skin moisturiser.

Nature's Shield have now implemented a plastic-free supply chain programme for organic almond oil. This means our raw material (organic almond oil) comes in steel drums from overseas , is then stored in stainless steel tanks and gets filled into glass bottles using Australian-made filling machines. So our glass retail bottles and supply chain are plastic-free to take better care of you and the environment. 

Advisable allergy test
To perform an allergy patch test with an oil, dab a few drops of oil to the elbow, wrist or knee and wait 24–48 hours to check for any signs of irritation or allergic reaction.
