Introduction
Nature's Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is made from Certified Organic Neem seeds in GMP, HACCP certified facilities and comes in an easy-to-use pellet format. Neem cake is formed from the organic matter left, after oil has been extracted from neem seeds. This enriches the neem cake with neem oil content, carrying all the valued benefits of neem. It is then used as a fertiliser, soil conditioner and soil ameliorate. Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is an Australian certified organic (ACO) allowed input for organic farming and is also Vegan Australia Certified. Composed of macro and micro nutrients, it increases soil fertility in a multitude of ways. The raw material aerates and improves the water-holding capacity of the soil, while the wide spectrum of essential elements and compounds supplies nutrients in a slow-release pattern which promotes plant growth. The slow, uniform release of nutrients over time means crops and plants are fed continuously throughout their growing season. When used in combination it boosts the efficiency of other fertilisers by inhibiting nitrification of soil. It also aids earthworm proliferation and health, improving the efficiency and growth rate of earth worms when added to vermicompost. |
Supports Healthy Earthworm Activity
Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser supports healthy earthworm activity in a number of ways. By improving overall soil structure, it fosters the physical environment earthworms’ favour, which is damp and also airy. The nutrient load of the neem cake provides high quality feed for earthworms, accelerating their rate of reproduction and growth. Used as soil conditioner and ameliorate Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is highly effective in improving and maintaining soil quality. Its unique mix of macro and micro nutrients improves the physical structure and nutrient content of soil. The organic material provides quality biodegradable mass whilst also aerating the soil, giving it an ideal texture for healthy root growth. Neem Cake Fertiliser reduces soil alkalinity by producing organic acids as it decomposes. Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is effective for rejuvenating low grade or damaged soil.. |
Wide spectrum of nutrients
Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is rich in 100% naturally occurring NPK (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium) as well as other essential micro nutrients including calcium, magnesium, sulphur, zinc, copper, iron, manganese and silica. It is also rich in sulphur compounds and bitter limonoids. The unique Neem compound, azadirachtin, works by strengthening the plant’s natural immunity to pests. Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser also inhibits nitrification of soil, thereby prolonging the availability of nitrogen in the soil, making it more fertile. Value of neem oil in neem cake fertiliser As Nature’s Shield Organic Neem Cake Fertiliser is composed of the solid plant matter left after the oil has been extracted, significant traces of neem oil remain in the neem cake fertiliser. This oil residue, along with its micro nutrients, is what enriches the cake with much of it's nutrients and builds a plant's natural immunity. The water-holding and soil-aerating properties support ideal soil texture and structure. |

The Slow, uniform release of nutrients over time means crops and plants are fed continuously throughout their growing season. When used in combination, it boosts the efficiency of other fertilisers by inhibiting nitrification of soil ,meaning it prolongs the availability of nitrogen in the soil for both short-duration and long - duration plants.
It supports healthy earthworm activity by improving overall soil structure and by providing micro nutrient rich organic matter to feed on .It can also be added to the vermicompost to boost the overall efficiency of the compost .

Frequently Asked Questions
1. I am seeing a mould/fungi type formation on the Neem Cake Pellets, is this normal?
Because the powerful bio matter introduced into your soil is still in the process of decomposing, it is providing all the necessary nutrients for your soil to thrive. Actually, this is a GOOD THING. You absolutely want to encourage the health and diversity of these bacteria and fungi.
The mould is often a symptom of this natural and positive phenomenon. So, if you see white mould on the top of your garden/potted plant soil - this is just the next step of the natural decomposition process going on in your soil as the organic fertiliser releases its nutrients to the soil and your plant roots.
Moreover, this won’t happen if you apply the pellets dig into the soil as recommended.
2. Can we put the pellets on the top of the soil?
We absolutely request the customers to apply the Neem cake pellets around the root zone by digging 5-10 cm into the soil (at least a 2-6 cm for vegetable , herb & indoor plants ) except for Lawn/Turf applications (due to practical difficulty) for better results. Some endusers are saying it's much easier if you mix the pellets with water and apply for Lawn/Turf as a liquid fertiliser.
3. How often do we need to apply neem cake?
For short terms plants like vegetables & herbs apply every 4 - 6 weeks for better results.
For all other plants including indoor plants apply the neem cake every 2 - 3 months for better results .
4. Can we use Neem cake along with other fertilisers ?
Of course you can. When used in combination it boosts the efficiency of other fertilisers by inhibiting nitrification of soil. This means neem cake prolongs the availability of nitrogen in the soil for both short - duration and long - duration plants.
